Dr. Ruth Lindberg

Veterinarian/Founder

Dr. Lindberg grew up in Miami, Florida, but traded the beach for the mountains to attend Middlebury College in Vermont for her undergraduate degree. She had taken riding lessons as a child but her true passion for horses was able to flourish as an active member of her undergraduate’s IHSA team, representing the team at Regionals and Zones, and riding through the Vermont countryside. From there, she has dabbled in multiple disciplines, including polo and eventing.

In 2014, Dr. Lindberg received her veterinary medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine with a focus on equine and large animal medicine at the New Bolton Center. Following graduation, she completed an intensive one year internship at Rhinebeck Equine, in Rhinebeck, New York, to further her training under the mentorship of board-certified surgeons, internal medicine specialists, and experienced ambulatory clinicians. Since then, she has been an equine general practitioner in PA and NJ and has developed special interests in dentistry, geriatric horse care, and sports medicine. Dr. Lindberg is also a certified veterinary acupuncturist (CVA)!

Dr. Ruthie Lindberg is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of her patients and establishing strong relationships with her clients. She loves being part of your horse’s “team” to help you achieve your goals, whether it is in the show ring or living a long healthy life as a pasture pet. Client education is an important part of Dr. Lindberg's practice philosophy. She is always happy to answer any questions you may have and she enjoys giving presentations to horse owners and groups on numerous topics in equine medicine and surgery.

Dr. Shelby Haryslak

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Shelby Haryslak joined Pinewood Equine in Summer 2025 as an associate veterinarian. A South Jersey native, Dr. Haryslak was born into a family of horsewomen and discovered her own love of horses at a very young age. That passion continued to flourish as she grew, riding in the area’s hunter circuit and IEA team and working as an assistant for local veterinarians.

Dr. Haryslak completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she was heavily involved in the IHSA team. She received her veterinary medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine with a focus in large animal and equine medicine at the New Bolton Center. After graduation, she completed an intensive one year internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center in Ringoes, New Jersey, under the mentorship of board-certified surgeons, internal medicine specialists, and accomplished ambulatory veterinarians.

Professionally, Dr. Haryslak enjoys all aspects of equine general practice, but has special interests in both emergency medicine and internal medicine. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cats, Theodore and Lucille, spoiling her ponies, Piper and Comet, taking care of her house plants, and enjoying nature.

jamie Curran

Office Staff/Client Care Specialist

When you call our office, Jamie is the voice on the other end of the line, scheduling appointments, filling medication requests, and answering your questions. Jamie was born and raised just outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma and began seriously riding at the age of 12. After working up through the barn ranks, she began teaching and training for extra income throughout high school and college. Her favorite disciplines are dressage and eventing but she has ridden and competed in a variety of English and western events. She attended Oklahoma State University and earned a bachelors in Animal Science, focusing her studies on Equine Production.

Over the course of the next ten years, she got involved in veterinary medicine and worked as a technician in large animal, small animal, and emergency care practices. She has also managed a few horse farms along the way. Jamie still rides and competes with her home-bred Oldenburg mare when the time allows. They are currently working through the levels in dressage.

Aren Adair

Veterinary Assistant

Aren was raised in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, PA where she grew up with a love for animals. Horses quickly became her “happy place” when her dad taught her to ride when she was 11 years old. Aren attended Kansas State University majoring in Animal Science and Industry where she spent most of her time in the campus stables. Afterwards, back in PA, she worked as a barn manager for a large family farm where she fell even more in love with the hard work and dedication it takes to care for horses. She moved to South Jersey in 2019 and, although she doesn’t have her own horses, she always tries to find an opportunity to go riding with friends or spend time in a barn somewhere. These days, if she’s not on the farm, you can typically find her out exploring trails with her Sheepdog mix, Luna.

Megan Jones

Veterinary Assistant

Megan Jones is one of our assistants - you can find her out on the road with our veterinarians helping handle patients, organizing equipment and supplies, assisting with paperwork and other related tasks. Megan grew up in Franklinville, NJ and started riding horses at a young age. Her dedication to horses only grew as she started working summer camps, teaching lessons, and cleaning stalls. She developed an interest in the medical aspect of horse care while working as a barn manager, where she was responsible for the daily treatment of horses with a wide variety of issues. When not working, she is most likely found with her own horse Gryffin, or her border collie Tobey out on a hike.
