Cutting Edge Diagnostic Imaging

Pinewood Equine has the latest in portable radiographic and ultrasound technology, producing instant high-quality images right at the farm. This allows for the most accurate diagnosis of your horse’s problem and implementation of a proper treatment plan. Radiographs use x-rays to visualize bone for abnormalities such as fractures, bone spurs, and joint arthritis.  Radiographs are also commonly used to help guide your farrier to optimize your horse’s trimming and shoeing. Ultrasound technology uses sound waves to image soft tissues such tendons, ligaments, and internal organs. It is an essential tool for the assessment of tendon or ligament injuries and can aid in the diagnosis of systemic disease and reproductive medicine. We can use imaging technology to guide injections into areas such as the sacroiliac joint or cervical facet joints.
